Behind the Keyboard - LexyJr

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

lexyjr_photoNadia = Hi Lexy, where are you from?

LexyJr = I am from Florida, USA.

N = How old are you?

L = I’m 16 years old.  I’ll be turning 17 on April 24th.

N = Are you in middle school or already in high school?

L = High school. Sadly, I’m a Junior (note: Junior is known as 11th grade). I wish I’m still in middle school, they are more fun and easier than high school.

N = What subject do you like most?

L = Uhm .. team sports I quess. I’m in cross country and track.

N = What is your running record?

L = 1 mile (1.609344 km) for 5-6 minutes.

N = What kind of GPA (Grade Point Average) do you have?

L = 3.5 GPA

N = Do you take any AP classes?

L = I’m taking honor classes for Math and Science. I got 87 last quarter on Math and 91 on Science.

N = How do you study if you are online all the time?

L = Do you know block scheduling? I have 8 classes where it’s divided into even day classes and odd day classes. So I do my even-day’s homework on the odd days and odd-day’s homework on even day.  However, I mostly do my homework the night I get the assignment.

N = What is your study+homework vs. playtime hours at home?

L = Uhm, not even an hour.. about 40 minutes. Depends on how much I get assigned. My playtime hour on the weekday would be from 5pm to like 8pm. And on weekends I only play for race or sometimes on Sunday.

N = What is your future goal?

L = You’re probably not gonna believe but I want to go to Med school and be a physician. I may act dumb but I’m really not. Next year I’m planning to take pre-nursing classes.

N = What made you want to go to medical path?

L = Me wanting to have a great future, heh.

N = Do your parents work in medical area?

L = No. My mom works in a salon shop and my dad’s is an electrician.

N = Do you have family or relatives playing SocioTown?

L = Nah… [note: LexyJr admited that he has a sister who plays SocioTown on later conversation]

N = None? You must have a lot of clones then!

With that, he just laughed.

N = Why are you always ending up in jail?

L = Uhm… because people don’t know when to stop with me, so I end up blowing up.

Before we wrapped up the interview, LexyJr has a special request -

*LexyJr = “I want to give a shout-out to Abby and Kelly!”

Behind the Keyboard - GirlyRose

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

interview_15Nadia : Where are you from?

Girlyrose : I was born in Turkey, but when I was 2 years old I moved to London.

N = Why did you move?

G = Because my dad was there and my mom wanted to live in London.

N = Where do you go to school?

G = The University College of London. I’m majoring in Philology (study of language in literary studies, history, and linguistics) and Foreign Languages.

N = What languages can you speak?

G = I speak English, Romanian, and a little bit Turkish. I know only some, like 10 words in Turkish.

N = What made you have interest in Romania?

G = I chose it because when I was visiting Romania I like the language.

N = When you study the language, do you have to learn about the country’s history as well?

G = Actually, yea.

N = Is it easy to learn the language?

G = Yeaa very. I have been learning the language for 2 years already.

N = How many more years do you have to finish school?

G = 1 more year.

N = And what are you planning to do after graduation?

G = Ummm…my family and I will be moving back to Turkey.

N = And what are you gonna do there?

G = Nothing.  Just move there and make more friends.

N = Wouldn’t it be hard since you only know 10 Turkish words?

G = Yea I have to learn more, but I can speak English.

N = Are you saying Turks also speak English?

G = Yea, they must know English.

Good Luck with your school Girlyrose!  Perhaps we could meet you when we visit Turkey (since no language preparation is needed :D )

Behind the Keyboard - Michael22

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

interview_10Nadia = What’s behind your username “michael22″?

Michael22 = “Michael” is what people calls me in real life, but it is not my real name.  The number “22″ is my cousin’s age. I like number 22.

N = How old are you?

M =  13 years old.

N = Where are you from?

M = I was born and raised in Pakistan.

N = How many languages do you speak?

M = I speak English and Urdu.

N = Do you learn English from school?

M = Yes. And when I was younger, my father had time to teach me English. My grandfather taught me English too.

N = What language do you speak at home?

M = English the most because my mother wants everyone to be good at English. But sometimes Urdu.

N = Who speaks Urdu in the house?

M = The servants, my older sister, and sometimes my mother.

N = What kind of hobbies do you like/do?

M = Well… I like singing and painting. Like pop music or rock music. I’m not too good. You see, it’s just I kinda have little interest in it.

My mother likes painting and when she does paint, I joins her. I like block painting or simple painting.

N = Is your mom an artist professionally?

M = No. She is a Gynaecologist (note. Gynaecologist is medical practice dealing with female reproductive system), but she likes painting. When she has time she does painting.

N = Is she always busy?

M = Yes. But she takes out time for us.

N = What does your dad do?

M = He’s an architecture engineer.

N = What type of building does he usually build?

M = He builds some small houses and big buildings.

N = Does he ever take you to the construction site?

M = Nope.  He’s always busy.

N = If you do painting with your mom, what do you do with your dad?

M = Nothing. He is veeeeeeery busy. He just asks about my basketball team sometimes.

N = Do you have siblings?

M = Yes. 2 older sisters, and 1 younger sister. (note. one of Michael22’s older sister is Areesh.)

N = Are you close with them?

M = Yes we are.  We don’t even create a fight, but my older sister does sometimes.

N = What kind of things do you do with your sisters?

M = We watch TV sometimes and play with the neighbors.

N = How did you find SocioTown?

M = Well… I was bored playing online games, so I searched for a virtual worlds list and SocioTown was in one of the list. I thought it sounds like a cool game and it is.

N = What do you like to do in SocioTown?

M = I like to play Dance Dance Socio and do job to earn sobucks.

I hope you can improve your painting as time goes. Good luck!
